Get off probation NOW!
Suspension

If you are unable to complete the probation semester with the acceptable GPA and credit completion, you will be suspended at the end of the term.  You will be notified by letter from the College Student Affairs Office.

Suspensions are for one semester to one year, depending on whether this is the first or second suspension.  All of the MnSCU colleges honor suspensions at this college.  At the time you wish to return to any of the MNSCU colleges, you will be required to complete an appeal.  For information on the suspension appeal, contact the counselor at the Student Affairs office at Pine Technical College.

If you must withdraw from a course during the probation semester, contact the college counselor, promptly, for assistance.  While this most likely will lead to eventual suspension, in some cases it does not. Don't give up!

Find out how this will affect you...

  • Focus your energies on continuing and passing the remaining courses.  This will be important when you submit a suspension appeal in the future.
  • Take the time to meet with your counselor to set-up a recovery plan.
  • Reflect on what is getting in the way of your progress and make adjustments that will lead to your academic success.

Attached Document or FileSuspension Appeal Form  Prior to completing the Appeal form, meet with the counselor to discuss the grounds for your appeal and the types of documentation that would be acceptable.
